ABOUT US

Michelle Duncan, MS, GISP
Pilot in Command
Michelle is a GIS Specialist and certified UAS drone pilot. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Washington University in cultural anthropology. Her first job after school was surveying and mapping archaeological sites in Arizona. Paper maps soon transformed into digital maps using GPS/GIS technology. Her first experience with this technology was during a survey project mapping archaeological sites on the Columbia River in Washington, from the Wanapum Dam to Rock Island Dam near Wenatchee. After this project Michelle returned to graduate school for a Masters Degree in Resource Management, at Central Washington University. She parlayed her interest in mapping into a GIS certificate tied to her resource management degree. Michelle's masters thesis involved getting the Ellensburg Solar Project started in 2003. She has since personally mapped & "droned" that site on behalf of the local government. Michelle is certified by the FAA to fly commercially and this work combines her love of maps with her love of the outdoors and travel.
